EJ Technical Services Manager in East Jordan, Michigan

EJ is seeking a Technical Services Manager to work onsite at our Corporate Office in East Jordan, Michigan. This position is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing manufacturing processes and technology that provide excellent product quality and cost for the corporation. Coordinates with manufacturing and product engineering along with regional personnel to improve and resolve manufacturing and quality issues. Provides expertise and support in the standardization of foundry technology globally. Performs the following duties through subordinate staff or through collaboration with regional leaders. Other duties may be assigned. * Promotes the culture, the mission and vision, and the core values of the company. This includes adherence to and promotion of the company safety beliefs, employee engagement, competencies, code of conduct, and other policies and procedures. * Lead or support projects and initiatives that support the successful and complete integration of new business acquisitions. * Lead or support projects and initiatives that support the successful and complete integration of new business acquisitions. * Lead or support projects and initiatives that support major facility transitions and/or continuous improvement. * Assist in helping to create a continuous safety improvement culture based on safety behavior, ergonomics, and technical and innovative solutions. * Create quality improvement opportunities. Ensure all stages of production are quality assured and the end customer is satisfied with quality. Address improvements for efficiencies and standards in quality. * Promotes safety awareness, accident prevention, and employee involvement with regard to a safe work environment. Ensures employees have an understanding of the safety expectations of the organization. * Works with regional leadership on standardization of polices, principles, and procedures throughout the EJ Group companies wherever practical. Develops and implements a system for consistent internal auditing practices of facilities of EJ Group. * Develops and assists with the implementation of process standards and the quality system. * Assists with on-site environmental/safety/quality audits. * Develops standard technology, equipment and facility requirements and specifications. * Responsible for cross sharing technology, equipment, and facilities information across regions. * Develops world class expertise in critical manufacturing technology. Stays current on industry developments, trends and experiences related to manufacturing of products. * Provides technical expertise and guidance to operations across all regions. * Supports all major facility design and engineering projects related to process/production improvements, safety, environmental, and quality. * Ensures that best practices are being followed in all facilities in the areas of safety, environmental, quality, technology, maintenance, and engineering. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Assisted in these duties by the Human Resources department. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * Minimum five years of experience in foundry operations as extensive foundry experience and expertise required for effective collaboration, direction, and continuous improvement of global FES project management. * Travel – Must be able/willing to travel internationally at least one week per month to various locations to support global projects.
