The Information Security team has identified a need to increase our efforts to connect with and be more available to employees working outside of the IT department. The goal of this internship is to build and execute an outreach program for the MSUFCU Information Security team. This position has the full support of the Information Security and Information Security Management teams. Work Location:Hybrid; A combination of working from home/remotely and at MSUFCU Headquarters campus in East Lansing, MI Work Schedule: Part-Time 20-25 hours/week; Hours will be scheduled based on student's school schedule and business hours (8:30AM - 5:00PM Monday-Friday) Paid Hourly Internship - $20.00+/hour Duration: Fall Semester with potential to continue into future semesters and summer Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Gain an understanding of the Information Security industry via job shadowing, work assignments, and exposure to the day-to-day activities of an Information Security team Join Information Security team meetings, as a full member of the team Brainstorm security-related topics to communicate to the business Develop methods of communication to the business that might include: One-pagers and information packets that could be consumed by the business Topics for presentation, both remote and on-premises, for interested employees to attend and learn about a security-related topic Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: High school diploma or equivalent required Actively pursuing Associate or Bachelor degree in related field of study Ability to communicate effectively, both individually and in a group setting Ability to work independently, with general guidance, towards an agreed upon goal Familiarity and experience with the Microsoft Office suite of products Physical Demands and Work Environment: May be required to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time. Ability to operate standard office technology, equipment and tools, which may include many hours of computer and phone usage. Occasionally needs to move about inside of office area Exposure to potentially hazardous condition, i.e. robbery. Receives detailed instructions and procedures to be followed to minimize the exposure This position is able to work in hybrid or onsite working arrangements. Frequently moves equipment or materials weighing up to 50 pounds for transport between areas of buildings.
