Cape Associates, Inc. Tile Setter in Eastham, Massachusetts
Responsibilities :
Meet with Project Managers to discuss project details; meet with clients, if directed by the Project Manager, to discuss their tiling needs.
Measure the area that must be tiled to determine stock requirements.
Order stock supplies and tiling equipment as needed.
Build and pour shower pans.
Cut and shape tiles to size.
Prepare and layout tiles for showers, floors, etc.
Prepare and apply tile grout. Cleaning excess grout and conduct post-installation inspections.
Build and pour shower pans.
Other tasks/duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED.
Previous experience as a tile and marble setter.
Good communication skills.
Basic carpentry skills.
Advanced mathematical skills.
Ability to operate hand and machine cutting tools.
Knowledge of tiling designs and installation techniques.
Good problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements:
This role requires prolonged standing, kneeling, climbing, balancing, stopping, squatting, bending, and lifting heavy materials, weighing up to 100lbs. tile setters must be able to work at heights and have the ability to carry materials up/downstairs/ladders. Must be able to tolerate loud noise, exposure to weather and highly exposed areas, repetitive reaching, and handling motion.
