Job Description

This position is responsible for all plant operations related to Quality Control along with overseeing the standards put in place for promoting Safety, Quality, and Efficiency.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the Quality Control Team. The Quality Control Manager will be responsible for communication and leadership of these Team Members.

    • Manage, maintain, and monitor the UltraDeck Webspeed Quality Control program. This includes monitoring inspections completed, following up on issues identified, creating new inspections, and reporting to General Manager on identified issues, and proposed solutions.
    • Manage the Quality Control Lab and all needed testing and reporting involved. This includes moisture testing wood trailers, melt testing railcar samples, and break testing boards.
  • Manage the Corrective Action program. This includes all corrective actions needed within the facility including but not limited to quality, safety, organization, and efficiency.

  • Manage the Research and Development program. Manager will be responsible for overseeing any testing related to research and development, documenting and reporting testing, along with communicating results with General Manager.

    • Submit monthly reporting related to the Quality Control program, documenting overall stats including defect rates, top quality related issues, etc.
    • The Quality Control Manager will play an essential role in overseeing the creation and management of new and existing Standard Operating Procedures.

Skills/Requirements

  • Minimum two years experience with Midwest Manufacturing or equivalent industry experience and/or training.

  • Minimum one year supervisory experience is preferred.

  • Able to write and speak clearly and accurately.

  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

  • Able to tactfully deal with guests and Team Members.

  • Strong knowledge of construction industry.
