Cambria County Child Development Corporation Pre- K Counts Teacher in EBENSBURG, Pennsylvania

  • Be a graduate of an approved 4-year college or university with a Pennsylvania teaching certificate in Early Childhood Education
  • Be a graduate of an approved 4-year college or university and submit documentary evidence of the successful completion of a minimum of 24 semester hours in the Theory of Child Development, Early Childhood, or Elementary Education
  • Be a graduate of an approved 4-year college or university and submit documentary evidence of at least 2 years of successful experience as a teacher in a public, nonpublic non licensed or accredited nursery or Kindergarten school.

General Description: Teachers are responsible for participating in a cohesive teaching team, coordination of curriculum and classroom lesson planning, and ensuring effective management of the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. This includes, but is not limited to, structuring and implementing lesson plans to ensure developmentally appropriate programming, developmentally appropriate transitional activities, and maintaining the appropriate child/staff ratio. Teachers must understand the children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a safe and developmentally appropriate preschool program in accordance with all relevant policies and procedures required by, but not limited to, PA DHS, Pre-K Counts, Keystone STARS, PA Department of Education, OCDEL, and CCCDC
  • Implement lessons relevant to Early Childhood Education and PA Early Learning Standards aligned to the curriculum used by the Pre-K Counts ProgramĀ 
  • Maintain positive, professional, open communication with parents/guardians, families, classroom supports, and all individuals within the classroom and school setting
  • Use assessment, observation, documentation, and any necessary means to measure progress and development in children throughout the school year to ensure Kindergarten readiness
