ManpowerGroup Microbiologist in Eddyville, Iowa

Our client, an American global food corporation, is seeking a Microbiologist II to join their team. As a Microbiologist II, you will be part of the Research and Development Department supporting the Manufacturing and Quality Control Teams. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Microbiologist II

Location: Eddyville, Iowa (Fully On site)

Pay: Competitive hourly pay rate + Benefits

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with general lab duties including preparation of sterile growth medium, stock solutions, and reagents, as well as general lab cleaning and dishwashing.

  • Perform aseptic sampling of manufacturing processes.

  • Conduct direct microscopy and plating while adhering to clean room protocols.

  • Prepare, inoculate, and manage shake flasks using aseptic techniques.

  • Enter process and analytical data into Microsoft Excel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a science field such as chemistry, biochemistry, biology, microbiology, or related field.

  • Laboratory experience through academic or prior positions.

  • Capable of independent work, seeking clarification as needed before starting tasks.

  • Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and computer literacy.

Schedule:

  • Mon-Fri, first shift during training period.

  • Post-training schedule: Noon to midnight on alternating 2-week schedules: Week 1 (Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and Week 2 (Wednesday, Thursday).

  • Flexibility is required.
