What we’re looking for

Metropolitan Mechanical Contractors (MMC) is looking for a BIM - VDC Technician to join our driven and dedicated team. With over 300,000 mechanical contracting projects completed and over 60 years of experience, we aim to hire the industry’s top talent.

This entry level position will be responsible for assistance in creating and modifying detailed mechanical designs, basic project setup, content management, basic design to fabrication using computer-aided design (CAD) software. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our engineering projects, contributing to the overall success of our construction and development efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Modeling:

  • Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings and models for mechanical systems and components.

  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to develop accurate and precise design layouts.

  • Plan and Specification Interpretation:

  • Interpret and analyze project plans, specifications, and technical requirements.

  • Ensure designs adhere to industry standards, codes, and client specifications.

  • Documentation and Revision:

  • Maintain organized and up-to-date documentation of all design files and project-related information.

  • Revise and update designs based on feedback and project modifications.

  • Coordination:

  • Coordinate with other team members, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to ensure seamless project execution.

  • Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct quality checks on completed designs to verify accuracy and compliance.

  • Address any discrepancies or issues promptly and effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

  • Associate’s degree or certification in Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.

  • Technical Skills:

  • 0 – 2 years’ experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD MEP, Revit, Navis).

  • Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and engineering principles.

  • Soft Skills:

  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy is a MUST.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
