UnitedHealth Group Digital Product Manager - Remote in Eden Prairie, Minnesota

Core functions of the digital product management team includes defining product features for our OptumRx member website and native application based on external and internal needs, maintaining a backlog of user stories, working with integrated design and development teams to deliver functionality, developing and maintaining product roadmaps, reporting on product performance, staying abreast of competing products, and communicating with external users and internal stakeholders across the organization.

The Digital Product Manager works closely with leadership from Optum’s experience design, information technology, marketing, operations, and business teams to deliver digital capabilities that ensure an exceptional online experience for OptumRx consumers. As a Digital Product Manager for Optum Rx you will have the opportunity to work on the highest utilized website within Optum. This role will have product owner responsibilities in an Agile Scrum environment for multiple capabilities that drive customer satisfaction, NPS score, and/or revenue for the organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage the product delivery for the consumer-facing, digital experience for Optum Rx

  • Day-to-day collaboration and decision making with cross-functional agile teams – including architects, developers, scrum master, designers and business or subject matter representatives

  • Responsible for defining the requirements/user stories and acceptance criteria of a product feature

  • Performs testing validation of features against customer & business goals and acceptance criteria

  • Works closely with product leadership and Optum Rx stakeholders to prioritize product feature backlog and development for the product

  • Works with engineering to align on feature sizing and delivery plans

  • Leads the release planning and sets expectations for delivery of new functionalities, creates presentations, release notes or demos of new functionality as needed

  • Supports operations and training leads in development of training materials, user guides, and FAQs for new product features and workflows.

  • Ensure that the scrum team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared stories to work on

  • Partner with Digital Product Leads to assess value and develop business cases of a given product feature to ensure work is aligned with the product strategy and focuses on maximum value

  • Defines and analyzes metrics that measure and benchmark product success

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience gathering and documenting user stories or business requirements

  • 2+ years of experience working directly with consumer facing digital products, including websites or mobile applications

  • 2+ years of work experience presenting to internal partners and/or external clients

  • 2+ years of experience with process evaluation and improvement

  • Intermediate or higher level of proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint

  • Experience with translating a product vision into actionable work

  • Experience with agile methods and related tools (e.g. Rally, Miro, etc.)

  • Experience with requirements facilitation and user story creation

  • Experience in managing multi-products and/or working with multiple technology teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Agile/Scrum Certified

  • Experience working in with the product model or in a product organization

  • Health care insurance background

  • Self-starter with the ability to appropriately assess the need for independent decision-making verses leadership escalation

  • Ability to react to product adjustments and expectations promptly and efficiently

  • Solid technical skills and ability to pick up new technologies quickly is beneficial

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $70,200 to $137,800 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
