Overview
Fairview Health Services is hiring a CT Technologist to join our CT Scanner department at our M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital location in Edina, MN. This role is eligible for a sign on bonus starting at $5,000
At Southdale Hospital, we are known for our award-winning heart, stroke and cancer care. We offer 24/7 Imaging services to Inpatient Units and Emergency patients and we have outpatient access seven days a week. This position in the CT department is a working lead technologist who would offer imaging care to in-patients, out-patients and emergent patients. The technologists work collaboratively within the Imaging team and amongst varying levels of clinical practitioners. The CT technologist will provide imaging services to a wide variety of examinations from Neuro, Body, Musculoskeletal, & Vascular.
This role will function in a Lead capacity as designated by the Hospital.
As the Lead CT Technologist, you would provide informal leadership and guidance to the daily operations of their clinical team. The lead tech ensures the delivery of high quality images and services consistent with the core values of the organization, and the professional regulatory and accrediting body standards of the department. As a CT Lead tech you will partner with the department manager to ensure operations function at top levels of efficiency, and exceeds customer expectations. Lead Technologists must demonstrate the ability to coordinate the teamwork of the department, assigning and directing staff, and overseeing the daily workload to facilitate and coordinate patient exams.
Schedule : This position will be working 1.0 FTE (80 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 8 hours, primarily assigned to the day shift. Positions within the department are not regularly scheduled to work weekends or take on call services.
A typical schedule will be:
Monday-Friday 0600a-2:30PM
We are a 24/7 operation and employees may be asked to cover a critical shift if needed.

Responsibilities Job Description
As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for:
Maintaining and prioritizing work to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Performing excellent patient care and examinations.
Using appropriate communication skills to meet patient/family, and other customer needs and communicating pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional.
Communicating with and educating patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam.
Achieving quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol.
Applying established professional guidelines and standards to complex, routine, and non-routine diagnostic testing procedures while ensuring patient data integrity.
Adhering to radiologic safety guidelines and diagnostic testing protocols/procedures and accurately documenting in compliance with regulatory agency requirements, completing computer functions, edits, scheduling, and billing status changes.
Assessing the validity of the test results to determine if consistent with changing physiological conditions or if due to possible interfering substances.
Participating as an active team member and participating in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives.
Correctly operating equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines while identifying and responding to equipment problems to ensure equipment is working properly.
Maintaining a high level of competency.
Participating in Quality Assurance testing as required by regulatory agencies and/or manufacturer recommendations
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Education
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology (Technical Training and/or Associates Degree)
License/Certification/Registration
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association
Current Registration with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Preferred Qualifications:
License/Certification/Registration
Additional certifications in Imaging
ARRT CT Certification or successful completion within 18 months of hire
Experience
1 or more years of experience as a CT Technologist or in a related role
Experience with EPIC / Radiant
Previous ambulatory care experience preferred
Additional Requirements :
Understanding of current MN Dept of Health Regulations
Knowledge of quality control and safety standards
Strong interpersonal skills
