Overview
The Contract Administration/Finance Manager role provides strategic leadership and is accountable for overseeing finance, payer contracting administration, and business operations within Fairview Physician Associates Network (FPAN). The position collaborates closely with organizational leadership, health system executives, and key leaders within the Clinically Integrated Network (CIN) to drive the implementation of best practices, optimize processes, and ensure effective project management. The focus is on advancing the mission and vision of FPAN and the broader healthcare system.

Responsibilities Job Description
Payment Methodology and Analysis:
Present negotiation information, analysis, and recommendations clearly to internal and external stakeholders, including leadership.
Analyze payment methodologies for hospital and physician partners and their impact on reimbursement, risk sharing, market behavior, and incentives.
Gather historical and market data to develop strategies for value-based care contracting and reimbursement.
Contract Management and Analytical Support:
Serve as a central resource for all analytical support related to value-based care contracts.
Negotiate adjustments to contract parameters to meet changes in healthcare environment, or to react to organizational/administrative issues related to contract implementation and execution.
Facilitate understanding of reimbursement methods and underwriting techniques, through formal and informal education to internal staff and key contacts.
Communicate contract information to internal and external (senior management, FPA clinic, health plan, etc.) customers.
Maintains effective and essential relationships with both internal and external customers.
Manage the implementation and auditing of financial provisions within contracts.
Liaison and Financial Analysis:
Act as a liaison between FPAN and the healthcare system accounting, finance, and payer relations.
Support financial analysis and review of financial statements and related documents.
Budgeting and Financial Forecasting:
Manage the annual budget process, including short- and long-term financial forecasting.
Monitor expenses and provide reports to track expenses against the budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Manages the monthly financial statement process to ensure leadership receives timely and accurate data. Prepares reports and explanation of variances.
Manages the financial reporting and provides financial reports and data to enable operations to monitor and improve performance.
Goal Setting and Operational Support:
Formulate and implement short- and long-term goals and objectives for financial and operational performance.
Provide finance and operational support for the development, implementation, and monitoring of assigned projects.
Financial Systems and Special Projects:
Develop and maintain financial systems to ensure data integrity.
Manage special projects, utilizing support from finance and operational resources.
Develop systems to monitor the achievement of performance measures.
Compliance and Knowledge Maintenance:
Monitor activities to ensure compliance with laws, government regulations, and policies.
Understands and works effectively within the complexity of a large clinically integrated network and healthcare system.
Maintain knowledge of healthcare trends and regulations through continuous learning (journals, seminars, etc.).
Participate on assigned committees and projects both within FPAN and across the health care system. Serve each of these committees and work projects in a collaborative approach representing both FPAN and the health care system.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree with a focus on finance, business management, accounting or health care administration
5+ years of directly applicable experience including finance, accounting, health care administration, operations and team leadership. Working knowledge of health plan negotiations and contracting strategies and method
Ability to use advanced functions of analytical and modeling tools such as Excel, Access, Crystal Reports, PASS, Clarity reports and EPIC
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree with a focus on finance, business management, accounting or healthcare administration
15 years of directly applicable experience including finance, accounting, health care administration, operations and team leadership.
CPA
Additional Requirements (must be obtained or completed within a period of time) :
Ability to work effectively with physician groups and individuals. Knowledge of physician referral patterns, health care economics and regulatory requirements.
