Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Financial Analyst to join a large power generation company based in Edmonton, Alberta.

This role will be reporting to a Senior Specialist (Manager) alongside one co-worker, and will be responsible for the day to day plant accounting for natural gas and renewable plant generation facilities. This candidate will also be responsible for invoice entry, monthly accruals, AR, review of contracts, input on financial decisions that may impact reporting, journal entries, and month end.

The ideal candidate will have their CPA designation (or equivalent),with 3-5 years of working experience post designation, experience with Oracle accounting software, and previous work experience in the utilities, power generation, or oil and gas sector.

This is a 6 month contract to start, with opportunities for extensions, and potential conversion to a full-time permanent role. This role offers a hybrid work schedule working 3 days in office, and 2 days working from home.

Skills and Requirements

• CPA designation with 3-5 years of working experience post designation OR CPA designation in progress with 5-7 years of working experience in accounting.

• 1-2 years of experience working with Oracle accounting software.

• Be willing to work some overtime during month-end

• Team-oriented, collaborative, and quick to adapt to change. - Previous work experience in the utilities, power generation, or oil and gas sector. null
