What you’ll be doing
Talent Acquisition delivers best-in-class experiences to enable CIBC to become the destination of choice for top talent, including candidates from co-op, undergraduate or post-graduate programs. As a Senior Strategic Sourcing Partner, you’ll proactively source, identify and assess best-in-class external talent, hiring strong talent and leaders who can help us deliver an exceptional client and employee experience. You will support across the enterprise within Personal Business Banking by developing strategic talent attraction strategies, sourcing plans, and actively recruiting high quality passive candidates who can effectively support our business.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days can be remote.
How you’ll succeed
Strategic Sourcing – Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans, utilize social media, ATS (Workday), attend industry events, along with leading modern marketing and sourcing campaigns. Identify strategies and sourcing channels to build a pipeline of candidates for your assigned portfolio. Establish connections, maintain and leverage a professional social media presence online, and prospect talent through your network. Provide trusted advice to hiring managers by using diverse interviewing and assessment techniques to validate candidate experience levels. Cold call, prospect and mine for passive talent in the market and influence them to join our organization. Develop talent attraction strategies and contribute to our team’s sourcing roadmap to ensure our team operates with speed and accuracy.
Business Acumen – Be up-to-date on labour market trends and competitor information, providing business partners with insights and recommendations that will improve the quality of external hires. Be a subject matter expert in your portfolio to better forecast and influence hiring plans and decisions. Stay up to date and advocate on the latest sourcing strategies , techniques and technologies – to ensure CIBC’s sourcing team is equipped to effectively source niche skillsets and talent.
Relationship Management – As a trusted talent advisor, build and maintain strong professional relationships with leaders, internal partners, and candidates. Deliver a best-in-class candidate experience by managing your talent pipeline, acknowledging all applicants, and engaging in regular communication. Consult with business partners on Talent Acquisition processes, activities and outcomes to position yourself as a valued partner.
Project Management – Deliver to businesses on important recruitment projects , build pipelines for head count growth, support with onboarding and Participate in additional projects by the Centre of Excellence team and provide support to other sourcing teams as needed.
Inclusive Talent Management – Be a champion and promote various diversity initiatives specific to the each line of business work with our inclusion team to meet hiring goals.

You’re an expert in sourcing talent. Your background includes proven experience as a Talent Sourcer, along with practical knowledge of various sourcing techniques like leveraging social platforms and crafting Boolean search strings. Proficiency in HR databases, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATSs) such as Workday, and Candidate Management Systems (CMSs) is second nature to you. Your strong communication skills enable you to effectively represent our company and available positions to potential candidates.
