We are building our team in Edmonton, Alberta and adding people with innovative ideas and a commitment to excellence. Our clients recognize our expertise in design and execution of better roads and advanced drainage design techniques to ensure roadway sustainability and resiliency through the harshest weather conditions. We are looking for a strong Drainage/Hydrology expert to join our team and assist our design teams in delivering leading edge civil and structural projects in our Edmonton office. In this role, you will lead the drainage design program for the Edmonton Valley Line West LRT project, as well as support other major design projects in Western Canada. We offer the flexibility for you to work from home remotely, with travel to project offices and Parsons' offices as needed.
The Edmonton Valley Line West LRT project is a 14-km long line extension of the soon to be in service Valley Line in downtown Edmonton, Alberta. The scope of work generally includes complex staging; new facilities such as stations, OMSF, storage facility, and stops; elevated guideway; new structures; systems and communications installation; trackwork; testing and commissioning; and all other civil works associated with the scope. It is the first LRT extension project using low-floor vehicle technology in Western Canada and will be a landmark LRT endeavor after the 5-year construction term. The unique project challenges, such as cold weather climate and integration with an in-service LRT line, offers team members future career opportunities in the robust transit portfolio of the City of Edmonton and other similar programs across Canada.
As a Sr. Drainage Project Manager, you will be expected to demonstrate technical excellence in drainage design techniques, lead a team of engineers and designers, and be a thought leader delivering complex projects, without sacrificing schedule and budget. Your knowledge of the Alberta Ministry of Transportation's design methods, goals and objectives will be instrumental in helping us win new work and execute projects to the clients' satisfaction. As a 'doer-seller', you will assist our BD team in identifying new project opportunities involving drainage and hydrology considerations throughout Canada, be instrumental in developing proposals and help us win that work. Once awarded, you will oversee the execution of drainage design projects. Our Sr. PM's plan and define program goals and devise methods to accomplish them, as well as coordinate projects through all phases of project inception, programming, design, construction and closeout.
15+ years of related project execution and/or program management experience in drainage projects for transportation, that involve large scope design and construction. Experience with Design/Build project is required.
The incumbent should have a broad general technical and business background and direct experience with Alberta Ministry of Transportation.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field from an accredited institution, a graduate engineering degree is preferred
P. Eng. registration in Alberta Canada is required
Ability and willingness to travel to support client and project teams, as projects dictate
