Weyerhaeuser Company is currently recruiting for a Mobile and Log Yard Supervisor for our OSB facility located in Edson, AB.

We are seeking individuals who are committed to safety, have a positive attitude, excellent work ethic & a desire to work in a manufacturing facility.

This position will be 8-hour days, Monday to Friday.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Mobile and Log Yard Supervisor is a full-time, salaried position. We are seeking an individual who is committed to safety & has a desire to inspire success in their team through caring leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Owning all aspects of log yard including road maintenance and site grounds.
  • Overseeing the mobile equipment repair shop.
  • Developing and training log yard operators and mobile mechanics.
  • Optimizing log usage and truck cycle times.
  • Set work standards for safety, quality, and production.
  • Prioritize and coordinate maintenance work.
  • Schedule outside resources for log yard and mobile shop repairs.
  • Measure key performance indicators for safety, quality, production, and maintenance.
  • Innovate new ideas to improve performance.
  • Lead process change projects – MOC/NOC.
  • Assist with annual budget and capital planning.
  • Manage consumables in the area.
  • Support root cause analysis (RCA) and operator driven reliability (ODR).
  • Log quality inspections.

  • Eligible to work in Canada.

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial safety procedures and demonstrated commitment to safety.
  • Previous log scaling and industry experience an asset.
  • Experience with supervising a mobile equipment shop an asset.
  • A minimum of two (2) years' supervisory experience in a unionized environment preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, leaderships and communication skills.
  • Must work well independently or as part of a team.
  • Motivation, initiative and a strong desire for personal growth and learning.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP.
  • Ownership and commitment to safety and risk assessment.
  • Willingness and ability to wear all required personal protective equipment.
  • This is a safety sensitive position; candidates must be able to pass drug and alcohol screening.

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $86,500 - $125,600 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 7% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.
