EMEA NanoPort: Electron Microscopy Centre of Excellence

The EMEA NanoPort team based in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, within the Sales and Service Division (SSD), runs an Electron Microscopy Centre of Excellence, supporting account managers and external Thermo Fisher Scientific customers in the Sciences and Industry markets. The key goals of the NanoPort team are to deliver high-quality Customer Applications Training and Support, conduct carefully prepared Product and Workflow Demonstrations, contribute to new hardware and software Product Introductions, and generate Marketing Collateral and contributions to high-profile Workshops and Conferences.

Position Summary

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnosis of SEM-DualBeam (FIBSEM) technical issues.

  • Troubleshooting and preventative maintenance of NanoPort SEM-DualBeam (FIBSEM) systems.

  • SEM-DualBeam (FIBSEM) installations, upgrades, and de-installations.

  • Ensures that EHS protocols are followed within the NanoPort.

  • Ensures that consumable stocks are maintained, ordering new supplies as required.

Leadership

  • Builds positive working relationships with colleagues, acquiring knowledge through technical training, mentorship, and job shadowing.

  • Raises awareness of hardware, software, and product quality issues with our New Product Introduction and Global Technical Support teams.

  • Works together with our application scientists to deliver outstanding results to our customers.

  • Seeks mentorship and guidance to drive personal development and further strengthen skills!

Education and Required Experience

  • A technical education and experience with complex electro-mechanical systems. Experience with SEM-DualBeam (FIBSEM) systems is strongly preferred .

  • 2 - 7 years of hands-on technical experience installing, repairing and calibrating complex systems.

  • Able to read and interpret schematics;

  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft applications, network knowledge, and current computer hardware.

  • The candidate must be customer-focused, have great attention to detail, a high level of professionalism, and the initiative to identify, pinpoint and solve problems that arise.

  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure, prioritize multiple tasks, and use good judgment under tight timelines.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Business proficiency in English (both oral and written) is required.
