Senior Software Systems Engineer

Are you passionate about Software design and development with a strong interest in Systems Engineering? Join our team!

As Software Engineer you will be part of the Reliability/Availability/Maintainability/Safety Engineering team (RAMS-E), a group of highly talented and experienced engineers, scientists and architects supporting Philips Business Units in developing safe, reliable and compliant medical products.

The RAMS team has about 20 experts and it is part of the Quality and Reliability department within the Innovation and Strategy organization. As a team, we support the different BUs while developing HW and SW products, actively participating in projects where both SW and HW Systems Engineering support is required and giving workshops and training about System engineering methodologies.

As Software Engineer, you will work with the BUs creating high quality working software. You design and develop software embracing Systems Engineering methodologies such as FMEA and Reliability test protocols. You will train and mentor engineers across Philips on how to apply FMEA and Reliability test protocols to software design and development.

You are responsible for

  • Coaching Software engineers on how to apply Systems Engineering to software

  • Creating/reviewing FMEA/Reliability trainings material for SW

  • Co-deliver FMEA/Reliability trainings for SW

  • Working on projects to keep hands on quality engineering experience and stay updated with latest innovation development

  • Actively participate in the Global Philips RAMS community & promote RAMS in R&D community

To succeed in this role, you have the following skills and experience

  • You hold a master in the Software Engineering area

  • 7+ years of experience in Software design and development

  • Passionate about applying Systems Engineering methods in the Software domain

  • R&D background and mindset with knowledge of product and software development

  • Working experience with Medical regulated environment is preferred

  • 6Sigma certifications are welcome

  • A talented (natural) trainer, able to explain complex concept in easy-to-understand terms, able to catch people's attention

  • Strong team player

  • Willing to travel up to 20 percent: deliver trainings, onsite support

Primary location: Eindhoven, the Netherlands.
