Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Construction Materials Testing technician will perform quality control testing on soil, concrete, asphalt, grout, and mortar.
Technician may be required to cast and break concrete specimens per ACI, keep track of all work completed through daily reports, keep track of travel-time between project sites, review daily schedules for assignments, and have the ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
Projects may require this person to be the only materials testing technician for the project.
A licensed professional engineer will oversee and authorize work performed by construction technician. Communication with contractors and construction superintendents will be required. Ability to work independently with no direct supervision.
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
This position is an entry-level position, which requires little to no experience, but the ability to learn and be trained.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
0 to 5 years of construction materials testing experience
Has or able to obtain the following certifications: Level 1A, Level 1B, SB101, SB102
Has or able to obtain ACI Concrete Field/Strength Testing Technician
Technical Requirements:
Able to use MS Outlook
Able to use MS Word
Other miscellaneous qualities:
Ability to travel 10% within west Texas area with overnight stays
Valid driver’s license
