Insight Global Jr Composite Laminator/ Bonding Technician in El Segundo, California
Job Description
An employer is looking for Jr Composite Laminators/ Bonding Technicians in the El Segundo, CA area supporting a large aerospace manufacturing environment. The Technicians will fabricate composite components, including bonding prep, tool prep, ply kit generation, lamination, vacuum bagging, de-molding, trimming, finishing, core fabrication, and bonding. They will bond a variety of dissimilar materials (composite, metal, laminate) into semi-finished or finished products. They will lay out articles, cuts parts or materials to size, and apply liquid or solid bonding agents as well as operate autoclave, hydraulic presses and ovens to complete the bonding cycle. They will support in controlling conditions of heat, pressure, and timing by setting and operating various controls according to the specifications for the materials and the bonding agent being used. The technicians will operate handheld tools like scissors, razor knives, grinders, drills, sanders, cutting wheels, saws, routers, etc. Other tasks include sanding, burring and smoothing over areas, applying sealing resins to cut or exposed edges and completing repairs on bonded products using inspection and rework instructions.
Pay rate: 20-24.5/hr

Skills and Requirements
HS Diploma/ GED
1 year of composite manufacturing/fabrication experience or approved composites certificate program
Basic computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft applications
Ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting to 50 pounds.
Eligible to obtain a security clearance in the future - Composites fabrication/bonding experience in an aerospace, military, or manufacturing environment
- Advance composite manufacturing experience to include layup, structural assembling to include honeycomb shaping, repair, bonding and fabricate of composite parts
- Ability to operate autoclave and curing ovens null
