We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Systems Engineer to join our Space Systems Test Automation team at our El Segundo, California campus to further help evolve our technology by creating innovative solutions for complex remote sensing applications across all Space programs and grow our business into new domains and markets.
As the Principal Systems Engineer - Space Test Automation you will be responsible for Special Test Equipment (STE) data systems architecture, concept development, network diagram definition and documentation, Supply Chain Management (SCM) / supplier technical exchange, bench and laboratory testing, test automation, and product demonstrations.

Security Clearance Requirement: An active and in-scope Secret or above level U.S. Security Clearance is required; U.S. citizenship is required due to U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
8+ years experience with testing hardware and/or Special Test Equipment STE supporting testing activities
Advanced understanding of Special Test Equipment (STE) data systems architecture, concept development, Supply Chain Management (SCM) / supplier technical exchange, bench and laboratory testing, and test automation
Hands-on experience working with computer networks and networking hardware documenting requirements and generating network drawings, diagrams, schematics, and testing procedures
Fundamental knowledge of cybersecurity controls and best practices
Experience creating and presenting engineering design, production, integration and test presentations and summary explanations for Sr. Level Stakeholders
Prior technical team leadership experience
Proven ability to adapt and remain agile while working on a wide variety of systems
Technical experience working with high speed digital systems for space systems
Experience working in an engineering laboratory and transition to production environments performing STE hardware, software, & firmware integration and test activities
Experience in Operations and Manufacturing environments including: procedure development, test, training, transition planning, installation, and deployment
Knowledge of environmental test methods and practices
Demonstrated ability to perform test equipment trouble-shooting and failure diagnosis
Experience with leading formal reviews such as Test Readiness Review (TRR), Failure Review Board (FRB), and Consent to Ship Review (CTSR)
Solid understanding of Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) computer architecture, interconnect / interfaces, and standard communication protocols
Proficient in MATLAB, C++, Python, LabVIEW, Eclipse, LabWindows/CVI, or related programming languages
Current Top Secret or SSBI Security Clearance highly preferred
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related STEM Degree Program (Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and/or Systems Engineering highly preferred) with 8+ years of relevant experience required - OR
Master’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related STEM Degree Program (Master’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and/or Systems Engineering highly preferred) with 6+ years of relevant experience required
