Raytheon Technologies Senior Principal Engineer, Software Engineering in El Segundo, California

Responsibilities include:

• Developing backend SW for next generation systems

• Debugging SW issues and supporting general development of radar solutions

• Support of the integration of backend software with frontend hardware

• Perform predictions and analysis of data received

• Perform technical and programmatic presentations to both internal and external customers

• Participate in design reviews, gate reviews, trade studies and other program/customer reviews as required to keep the team on track

• Interface with the CE, IPTLs, team members, and other functions on a regular basis

Clearance Requirements:

An active and in-scope Secret U.S. security clearance

Work Location:

El Segundo, CA

Required Skills:

• Demonstrated understanding of airborne radar systems and their principals of design, development, requirements, I&T

• Thorough signal processing software development skills

• Experience with C, Ada, Matlab, Python

• Experience working in Reston Stable Isotope Laboratory (RSILs)

• Experienced with collaboration tools (e.g., Git, Jira, Confluence)

• Excellent Microsoft office skills (Office, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain meaningful working relationships with program stakeholders

Desired Skills:

• Experience with working on development efforts and/or within an Agile Framework methodology

• Experience with software modes and data collection methodologies with the corresponding phenomenology artifacts

• Ability to work autonomously and determine/develop approaches to solutions

• Experience in preparing and delivering briefings to internal and external stakeholders

• Knowledge of software architectures

Required Education:

10 years of relevant experience with a BS degree (STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics, preferred); or 8 years of relevant experience with a MS degree (STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics, preferred)
