Job Store Staffing Camp Cook in Elbert, Colorado

Job Store Staffing is looking for a Camp Cook in the Elbert, CO area who will be serving campers. We are looking for someone who is high-energy, creative, open-minded, and enthusiastic with prior experience working in food service.

Location: Elbert, CO, 80106 Pay: $20 - $25 per hour Duration: Seasonal: May 15th - October 15th

Job Description: This camp's Kitchen Staff have one of the most important and integral jobs at summer camp: assisting the chef team in ensuring everyone receives a meal. They are responsible for cooking all the meals at camp, assisting with kitchen clean up, and keeping all meals and the kitchen kosher to put out high quality meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks for about 250 people each day.

Responsibilities: Prepare and cook all camp meals safely and in accordance with kashrut practices - which includes using a stovetop, gas grill, broiler, and convection oven Assist in organizing and inventory of food deliveries Be aware of allergy information and ensure separation of allergens per camp policies Ensure that all cleaning and sanitizing practices are in accordance with health department regulations and licensing requirements Participate in camp activities when possible Other duties as assigned including shifting roles as needed and providing food for programming as needed

Physical Demands and Working Environment: Physical Demands: This job requires the incumbent to have operative auditory and visual functioning. Employee must also be able to walk upwards of two (2) miles each day, including use of stairs and uneven terrain. Work Environment: Working conditions may include being in loud, indoor spaces as well as spending extended time outdoors under the sun. Must have the ability to work in a hectic, sometimes stressful environment while maintaining the standard of care.

Qualifications: Must meet all requirements for employment with our client including: background screening, three references, documentation, and compliance with CDHS law Must attend Staff Orientation from 5/22/2024 - 6/9/2024 Must live at camp or be able to commute for the summer season Must have 2 years of kitchen experience or culinary degree in progress Prior kitchen experience or culinary degree in progress Strong understanding of dietary needs, food allergies, and kosher laws ServSafe certification (preferred)
