The role of Shakeproof’s Purchasing Manager requires a hands-on leader that can drive change in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment leveraging their strong interpersonal and negotiation skills. This role provides critical support to the Shakeproof Team and delivers cross-Plant purchasing and sourcing strategies to the larger Shakeproof division. The Purchasing Manager will also play a lead role in projects involving MRD, forecasting, maintain inventory, order material, issue purchase orders and will be instrumental in maintaining raw material at each manufacturing site. This role will lead and manage a small strategic sourcing and purchasing team.
Essential Responsibilities:
Develops and motivates core talent with the purchasing/supply chain group. Creates processes and systems that standardize and sustain purchasing practices in alignment with ITW models.
Creates alignment of the team around those processes and systems. Assigns work as needed and directs flow within the department.
Lead complex vendor negotiations, with raw material suppliers and processors, with best pricing and contract set-up
Develop and manage a network of vendors and suppliers to ensure consistent supplies and competitive prices
Ensuring MRD target setting, review, and exception reporting is completed and maintained
Facilitate and maintain quotations for all products in a timely manner
Optimize in-stock quantities and minimize and manage Slow and Obsolete inventory
Managing inventory for Ramp Ups and Ramp Downs
Reviewing and managing PPV (Purchase Price Variance) report
Identifying and managing part expeditions
Aligning with Production and internal customers to ensure planned production schedules can be accomplished
Reviewing and adjusting suppliers on hand inventory commitments
Keeps management and stakeholders updated on current projects and problems
Support engineering team with APQP process for new business, product launches, PPAP expectations, and new innovations
Provide cross-functional support by completing special assignments, perform data analysis and provide historical and future data
Become an expert in the ITW Toolbox and proficient at conducting continuous improvement activities to improve Supply Chain processes
Working relationship with ITW Corporate Strategic Sourcing Team to support various initiatives related to steel commodity

The ideal candidate will have a solid materials background and be a hands-on supervisor who combines tactical and strategic thinking towards creation of a learning organization culture. Candidate must possess the following as indicated:
Bachelor’s degree in operations/supply chain/business management.
5+ years’ experience in effective supplier management (i.e. negotiation, delivery, quality).
Demonstrated experience in Manufacturing related Inventory Management and Purchasing
Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and time management skills.
Ability to manage cost savings and new product development projects.
Experience in setting goals and performance management.
Proven track record of cost savings and employee development results.
Thorough knowledge of materials function and understanding of value propositions.
Demonstrated competency in prioritization and analytical skills.
Ability to multi-task and make critical business decisions based on established metrics and excel under pressure
Excellent computer skills (Microsoft office package).
Self-starter, collaborative, result oriented with high attention to detail
Willingness, desire and capability to move into higher level functional leadership roles
