Responsibilities

As a Maintenance Technician, you will:

  • Maintain and repair equipment associated with the treatment of influent wastewater from manufacturing and painting operations, including pumps, valves, piping, instrumentation, dewatering equipment, mixers, chemical feed equipment, and other related systems.

  • Perform preventative maintenance strictly adhering to manufacturer specifications for the three individual systems.

  • Conduct routine repair work and various general maintenance tasks.

  • Address mechanical, electrical, and piping needs.

  • Coordinate and prioritize all maintenance work to ensure the wastewater treatment efficient plant (WWTP) operation.

  • Evaluate maintenance needs, set priorities, and figure out the best course of action.

  • Coordinate with the maintenance team for plant support.

  • Collaborate with contractors or subcontractors for specialized or extensive maintenance work beyond the team's capabilities.

  • Perform and/or ensure the completion of routine inspections of all systems and equipment.

  • Document and track all Preventative Maintenance (PM), Reactive Maintenance (RM), and 5S Standard activities in the Maintenance Tracking System.

  • Assist in populating the Maintenance Software program with required data.

  • Build work orders for all PM and RM, and keep records detailing work performed.

  • Lead spare parts inventory and ordering.

  • Communicate effectively with vendors regarding parts and equipment needs.

Additionally, you will assist in the batch treatment of wastewater from the production plant, including:

  • Handling and applying chemicals, including jar testing.

  • Conducting chrome reduction processes.

  • Monitoring and controlling systems via PLC.

  • Operating the filter press and handling sludge.

  • Collecting data, sampling for process control and compliance, and entering data into databases or log sheets.

  • Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Proven experience in mechanical, electrical, and piping maintenance.

  • Outstanding organizational and planning skills.

  • Ability to perform maintenance and repair tasks accurately and efficiently.

  • Strong communication skills for effective coordination with team members, contractors, and vendors.

  • Familiarity with maintenance tracking systems and software programs.

  • Dedication to adhering to safety and compliance standards, including 5S compliance.

  • Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks, including lifting and handling equipment.
