Washington State Department of Natural Resources Wildland Fire Regulation & Prevention Technician in Ellensburg, Washington
Regulation & Prevention Tech, Wildland Fire Management Supervisor (WFMS) Full-time, Permanent, Represented position Location: Southeast Region- Ellensburg, WA Relocation Compensation may be available and considered Salary: $3,811.00 - $5,117.00 Monthly**
Responsibilities:
- This position enforces fire regulations; issuing burn permits with adherence to the Washington State Fire Smoke Management plan.
- Works with the Assistant Fire Management Officer in organizing fire prevention efforts within Southeast Region, primarily the Kittitas Fire Unit.
- Conducts wildland fire investigations
- Conducts fire tool inspections on logging operations.
- Assists with wildland fire suppression throughout the season.
- Assist with the training of seasonal firefighters.
*Required Qualifications: *
- Experience leading wildland firefighting personnel.
- Proven ability in computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, and Global Positioning Systems.
- Knowledge of:
- DNR Burn Permit Regulations
- Smoke Management
- Regulatory Education
- Fire Regulation and Enforcement
- Fire Prevention Programs
- Fire Investigation
- Fire Suppression
- Certified as a NWCG Single Resource Boss or the ability to obtain certification within 12 months.
- NWCG Qualified Wildland Fire Investigator or the ability to obtain within 24 months.
- Good writing and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with the public, sometimes under stressful conditions.
- Ability to act promptly and use good judgement in emergencies.
