Steuben Foods Inc Continuous Improvement Efficiency Engineer in Elma, New York
Job Responsibility
The Continuous Improvement Operational Efficiency Engineer supports plant operation by contributing towards improving safety, quality and operational performance through continuous improvement techniques.
Job Duties
Leader/facilitator of positive change by working with all levels of the organization thru factual communication.
Able to function successfully by implementing and sustaining both continuous improvement and/or optimization projects.
User of and trainer for others in the application of Data Collection, Lean & Six Sigma tools to include 5S, process mapping, Value steam mapping, Pareto Analysis, Fishbone diagrams and 5 Why as required to achieve targets in Safety, Quality and Operational Efficiency.
Facilitator for team (s) thru the application of structured problem solving techniques and Route Cause/Corrective action activities.
Technical and Teaching resource for the development, implementation for a standardized data collection method (s) to be the company key performance indicators.
Work with World Class Improvement contractors for continued growth
Examples as RedZone; Powers; Horizon Consulting
Review, create and train on automation and data collection for Automation of operating task.
Qualification and Education Requirements
BS Degree (Engineering; Mechanical, Process, Electrical or Industrial).
5 years or more in the Liquid Food Industry and/or Continuous Improvement Process
Proficient computer skills include AutoCAD, MS / Office, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project and Visio.
Able to drive projects to closure.
Able to utilize statistical tools and concepts to identify variation of defects in a process.
Certification in Lean Six Sigma Engineering a plus.
