Express Employment Professionals Associate Buyer in Elma, Washington
Purchasing Agent needed for local healthcare facility. This position manages the processing of department supply requisitions and Central Supply inventory. 1-2 years inventory experience is required.
[Job Duties and Responsibilities:]{.underline}
- Buyer of formulary items & approved purchases as delegated.
- Identifies logistic process improvement opportunities.
- Manages returns, recalls, exchanges and back orders and communicates these to staff as needed. Assists leadership in managing various inventory control projects.
- Assists in MIS maintenance and accuracy.
- Partners with Accounts Payable to ensure proper coding, pricing, and prompt payment of approved orders.
- Responsible for initializing new vendor accounts and terms in accordance with policies and legal requirements of public districts.
- Provides day-to-day accountability for supply inventories, monitoring volumes, flow, and sourcing.
- May lead work on behalf of the supervisor or as directed by management.
- Analyzes product usage and adjusts inventory levels as appropriate to optimize inventory levels.
- Anticipates supply needs and communicates potential interruptions to Manager/Supervisor and customers.
- Monitors all additions, deletions, and changes to main stores and to unit PAR locations and works closely with departments prior to and during product conversions.
- Maintains current Materials Management Information System (Meditech) supplies database in conjunction with EMR Support teams.
- Independently makes decisions and takes action regarding supply shortages, keeping management informed, and/or makes recommendations based upon analysis of information.
- Assists in development of departmental policies and procedures, in coordination with Supervisors and Managers.
- Responsible for creating and editing department templates, working closely with clinical leaders, ensuring all supply needs are satisfied.
