Robert Half Accounts Receivable Specialist in Elmhurst, Illinois

Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Specialist in Elmhurst, Illinois. This role primarily focuses on processing customer applications, maintaining customer records, resolving customer inquiries, and monitoring customer accounts in the construction industry.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently manage all aspects of accounts receivable and ensure accurate and timely invoicing

• Prepare and submit AIA payment applications (G702/G703 forms) accurately and in a timely manner

• Coordinate with project managers to gather necessary documentation and approvals for billing

• Generate and send invoices to clients based on project milestones and contractual agreements

• Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on outstanding invoices

• Address any billing issues or disputes in a detail oriented and timely manner

• Prepare and track lien waivers (conditional and unconditional) for subcontractors and suppliers

• Maintain accurate records of all waivers and related documents

• Reconcile accounts and resolve any billing discrepancies with clients

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial reports related to accounts receivable and project billing

• Assist in month-end closing procedures and provide reports to management as needed

• Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding billing inquiries and payment status. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accounts Receivable role

• Proficiency in Accounting Functions and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes

• Experience in Billing Functions and Billing Collection is essential

• Demonstrated ability to manage Cash Activity and Cash Handling

• Familiarity with AIA Billing, AIA Documents, and Lien Waivers

• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Enterprise, Procore, and Microsoft Excel

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Proven problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred

• detail oriented certification in Accounting or Finance (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.
