FlexStaff is seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Technologist for our client. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse, surgeon, or other healthcare professionals, you will play a crucial role in providing outstanding surgical care and ensuring the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures. Key Responsibilities:
Prepare the operating room and sterile field for surgical procedures by setting up surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment with utmost attention to sterile technique.
Assist healthcare professionals in receiving, labeling, and verifying sterile solutions and medications as per established protocols.
Ensure patient safety by verifying identity, surgical site, and procedure correctness before surgery.
Help with the positioning and movement of patients while adhering to safety guidelines.
Engage in appropriate gowning and gloving procedures within the perioperative setting.
Aid the surgeon throughout the operative procedure by anticipating instrument needs and maintaining accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments.
Support in maintaining and monitoring surgical asepsis during all procedures, adhering to established guidelines.
Prepare and apply bandages, dressings and assist with patient transfer to the recovery room post-surgery.
Handle and care for specimens taken for laboratory analysis as required.
Participate in staff development activities and maintain ongoing education to stay updated with surgical practices.
Qualifications:
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting is mandatory.
If you are a Level I candidate, you may be considered if you have one of the following:
Documented Grandfathered Status as a Surgical Technologist or,
Completed an appropriate training program for Surgical Technologists in a military capacity (U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, or Public Health Service) or,
Extensive experience performing duties related to the practice of Surgical Technology in the federal government.

The salary range for this position is $80,000-$85,000/year
