Carrington Cabin Safety Attendant in Elmira, New York

The Flight Attendant AKA Cabin Safety Attendant will provide personal services to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers during flight. Perform all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, all state, federal and country laws and regulations, wherein the company operates and flies. The starting pay range for this role is 60,000.00 Annually.

What you'll do:

  • Attends pre-flight briefings.

  • Ensures cabin equipment and public address system is in working order.

  • Maintain a safe and secure flight while keeping passengers at ease.

  • Before takeoff, flight attendants ensure the plane is equipped with emergency gear, first-aid kits and enough food and drink for all the passengers.

  • Greet passengers and instructs them where to store carry-on items; provides assistance to passengers as required.

  • Before plane takes off, instruct all passengers on the use of emergency equipment, checks to ensure all seatbelts are fastened, seat backs are in the upright position, and all carry-on items are properly stowed.

  • Ensures the comfort and safety of passengers during flight.

  • Communicates with passengers on such issues as safety and emergency procedures ensuring passengers follow all flight regulations and enforces such regulations.

  • May serve food and/or beverages as needed.

  • Clean and maintain the inside of the aircraft.

  • If an emergency does occur, implements emergency procedures involving evacuations, crash landing, and severe turbulence.

  • Administer first aid to passengers when needed; reports medical problems to the PIC/SIC.

  • Assists passengers in safely deplaning.

  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

What you'll need:

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Must have successfully completed training and passed a proficiency check annually in aircraft type and safety procedures.

  • Must initially and every two years thereafter complete training in emergency procedures, first aid, aircraft surface contamination, crew resource management, dangerous goods and high-altitude training for each aircraft operated above 10,000 feet.

  • Three (3) or more years’ experience as a hostess, waitress or flight attendant.

  • Proficient with flight scheduling and tracking software preferred; FOS System in particular is a plus.

  • Excellent verbal communication skills

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to build relationships with guests and Executives.

  • Ability to maintain composure and adapt to a variety of situations especially in emergency situations.

  • You need to live within 2 hours of Elmira, NY.
