Description
Calibration / Metrology Supervisor
The Calibration / Metrology Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the calibration and metrology of equipment as well as component parts ensuring accuracy, reliability, and compliance with ISO 9001:2015 or newer standards. This role will also be an active participant in the ISO compliance and certification process. This is a hands-on position that requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a thorough understanding of calibration and metrology principles.
The requirements for this position are as follows:
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical experience in engineering, metrology, or related field is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role required. Proven experience in calibration, metrology, quality assurance and CMM operations with proficiency on ISO 9001 standards. Maintain effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with team members, customers, vendors, and auditors.
LOCATION: Elmira, NY
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise and lead the quality team to ensure efficient, and effective calibration and inspection activities.
Perform, schedule, and coordinate the calibration and testing of instruments such as gages, micrometers, calipers, CMM, and other tools according to procedures and ISO 9001:2015 or newer standards.
Perform, schedule, and coordinate the inspection of component parts.
Develop and maintain calibration schedules, work instructions, and quality processes to ensure reliable calibration processes.
Maintain calibration software, documentation, and records for compliance with ISO quality management standards.
Coordinate with internal departments, external vendors, and customers to schedule services, and resolve issues.
Provide cross training and support to employees of the quality team.
Participate in audits, inspections, and corrective actions related to ISO compliance and certification.
Identify opportunities for improvement, optimize resources, implementation of new technologies, and improve efficiencies and effectiveness.
Pay Range:$65,000.00 - $75,000.00, Salary Exempt
