Campbell Companies Mining Electrical Service Engineer in Ely, Nevada

Description

This position is responsible for providing technical direction, guidance, and support to customers for the erection and service of assigned mining products. This position will provide troubleshooting and problem resolution on all types of drive & control systems for new and older equipment and electrical upgrades being installed and maintained on Caterpillar mining equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Resolve field problems by investigating, analyzing, and working with engineering to develop solutions. Commission and tune drive systems for new machines and upgrade packages for existing machines.

  • Provide recommendations for hardware and software improvements to increase productivity and decrease maintenance.

  • A willingness to work both mechanically and electrically on all Caterpillar Mining Equipment

Required Qualifications:

  • BS Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent degree

  • 3-5 years relevant experience in DC drive systems.

  • Software requirements include MS Office Products: Word, Excel, and Outlook. Preferred experience includes PLC Software – Siemens, Allen Bradley, GE; Analog and Digital Drive Systems – Siemens, GE. MSHA Certification preferred.

  • Must be willing and prepared to travel domestically 50% of the time.

  • Individuals must have exceptional written and oral communication skills, provide clear and concise reports, and record and interpret electrical system signals and recordings to help define and correct problem conditions.
