Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Director of Finance in Emeryville, California. As a key member of our team, your role will involve overseeing the financial operations, implementing accounting systems, and managing budgeting processes.
Responsibilities:
Lead financial planning and analysis for global Dx plants.
Prepare monthly and ad-hoc reports to track performance, budgets, forecasts, and operational metrics.
Provide financial support to Plant Heads and lead financial reviews at management meetings.
Challenge business assumptions to ensure reasonable budgets and forecasts; advise on resource allocation.
Oversee financial audits of manufacturing processes and partnerships.
Manage accounting for joint business partnerships and collaborate on planning and analysis.
Support global Diagnostics Capex planning with the international office.
Provide financial modeling for new industrial businesses and strategic initiatives.
Assess cost efficiencies and operational effectiveness.
Ensure accurate cost capture and reasonable budget assumptions with Industrial personnel.
Collaborate on optimizing inventory, manufacturing costs, and supply chain expenses.
Coordinate with corporate functions to ensure proper service allocations.
Lead/support strategic growth projects (acquisitions, integrations, divestitures, system implementations).
Financial Systems
Improve systems for planning, capturing, and analyzing manufacturing expenses; lead costing methodology.
Develop efficiencies and improvements in financial data analysis and reporting.
Work with IT to adapt systems to meet business structure changes.
General
Lead and develop the Industrial Finance team (6-8 individuals across 6 plants).
Improve SAP financial controlling systems across Diagnostics plants.
Continuously enhance the quality of service from the Diagnostics Finance function.
Requirements

Capable of challenging business partners constructively
SAP experience
Experience in cost accounting and inventory management
In-depth industry knowledge and experience
Skilled in project and change management
Experience working with internal customers
Personnel management experience
MBA or Master’s Degree in Finance required; relevant experience may be accepted in place of a Master’s
10+ years of relevant experience with an MBA or Master’s Degree in Finance
5+ years of people management experience
