Robert Half Medical Records Specialist in Emeryville, California
Description
The Medical Records Specialist will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and organization of medical records in compliance with legal requirements and healthcare facility policies. The Specialist will carry out tasks in collecting, filing, retrieving, and updating patient information. Further, the Specialist will be expected to ensure stringent documentation, confidentiality, and timely processing of medical records.
Key Responsibilities:
· Collect and compile patient data from various sources including physicians, nurses, labs, etc.
· File, organize, and maintain medical records while ensuring proper labeling and indexing.
· Retrieve medical records for authorized personnel when requested.
· Update existing patient records with new information, test results, diagnoses, and treatments.
· Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of all medical records.
· Comply with healthcare regulations, particularly HIPAA, and facility protocols regarding medical records.
· Perform data entry, scanning, and basic coding tasks related to medical records.
· Answer inquiries from healthcare providers, patients, and third parties regarding medical records.
· Maintain inventory and order supplies for the medical records department.
Requirements
Prior experience within Medical Records is required
