Job Description:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activity Leader to join our team at Absolut Center. The Activity Leader will assist the Activity Director in planning, organizing, and implementing recreational and therapeutic activities for our residents, promoting socialization, engagement, and overall well-being. Responsibilities:

· Assist the Activity Director in planning and organizing a variety of recreational, social, and therapeutic activities for residents, including games, arts and crafts, music and dance, exercise classes, and outings.

· Set up activity areas and prepare materials and supplies for scheduled activities.

· Encourage resident participation in activities and provide assistance as needed to ensure their safety and enjoyment.

· Engage with residents one-on-one to build rapport, assess interests, and encourage participation in activities.

· Assist with transporting residents to and from activity areas, using appropriate mobility aids and techniques.

· Maintain a clean and organized activity area, ensuring equipment and supplies are stored properly and safely.

· Document residents' participation in activities and any observations or concerns, as directed by the Activity Director.

· Collaborate with other staff members, including nursing, dietary, and housekeeping staff, to support the overall well-being of residents.

· Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and in-service programs as required.

Requirements:

· High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or coursework in recreational therapy, gerontology, or a related field preferred.

· Previous experience working with older adults, preferably in a healthcare or senior living setting, is preferred but not required.

· Compassionate and patient demeanor, with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for residents.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff members.

· Ability to follow directions, work independently, and collaborate effectively as part of a team.

· Basic knowledge of recreational and therapeutic activities suitable for older adults.
