Good Shepherd Village at Endwell is looking for a creative, energetic person who enjoys working with older adults to join us as a Therapeutic Recreation Leader!

Position Details

Full time: 80hrs/bi-weekly pay period and Per Diem positions available.

TR Leader Position Summary

As a Therapeutic Recreation Leader at Good Shepherd, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing recreational activities that enhance the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of our residents. Engaging residents in activities that stimulate a sense of cultural, spiritual, diversional, physical, political, social, and intellectual health. Your role will involve creating and executing engaging programs that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and physical activity within a safe and supportive environment.

TR Leader Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a diverse range of recreational programs tailored to the interests and needs of our residents.

  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to create activity plans that support residents therapeutic goals.

  • Coordinate and lead group activities, one-on-one sessions, and outings that encourage socialization and engagement.

  • Assess residents’ abilities and preferences to customize activity plans that cater to their individual needs.

  • Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress in recreational activities.

  • Assess incoming residents, along with managing paperwork for residents who already reside in the building.

  • Assist in the setup and cleanup of activity spaces and equipment.

    Essential Job Requirements

    Education: High School diploma or GED

    Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age. Ability to read, write and speak the English language

    Experience: Previous activities experience preferred
