Depot Supervisor
The Colas Group operates internationally in every aspect of construction and maintenance for roads and for other types of transport infrastructure as well as on projects involving urban development and recreational facilities. The COLAS operation in Ireland primarily involves the distribution of bitumen products, emulsion manufacturing, chemical manufacturing and the provision of specialist road maintenance services on the national, regional and local roads network. COLAS in Ireland is an all island cross border business operating from 14 locations.
Mission
The Depot Supervisor will manage and organise his team to ensure the Network is maintained in a safe and serviceable condition and take action for any non-compliance of the contract service requirements. All works and inspections will be recorded using the Project’s bespoke routine maintenance management system.
The Depot Supervisor will form part of the Winter Service Supervisor and Incident Response Supervisor rota for the delivery of winter and incident response services across the Network.
Main Responsibilities
Responsible for the day-to-day management of all routine maintenance/incident response/winter service activities within their area
Responsible for the day-to-day management of all routine maintenance activities within assigned Tasked Maintenance Areas
Organise and supervise the routine maintenance activities within their area to ensure they are been carried out to the specifications and in line with the health and safety plan.
Recording and reporting of routine maintenance activities
Management of Operatives and subcontractors including the “Permit to Work” process, incorporating insurance check, Order Number, and Induction requirements on‘Go Contractor’
The organising and implementation of all Operatives for the Winter Service and Incident Response rotas as required
Ensure safety inductions are carried out and all training is up to date on‘Go Contractor’for CJV operatives and any subcontractors working in your area
Investigate and prepare reports on any accidents, injuries, near misses and dangerous occurrences, report to the Health and Safety Manager
Management of operatives in relation to delivery of traffic management
Communicate effectively with colleagues, the public and members of the senior management team
Profile
Education
Civil/Construction or related Certificate/Diploma/Degre
Industry recognised safety-training to the relevant standard
Skills
Self-Starter
Competent IT skills
Excellent interpersonal, communication and reporting skills
Adaptable and flexible to the range of works required
Flexibility with regard working time arrangements and travel requirements
Full Driving licence
Key Experience
Supervisory experience for road maintenance/ Civil Engineering works
Working on delivery of projects governed/delivered to TII DMRB Standards
Working with High Speed Traffic Management desirable
An understanding of the demands of a pressurised environment
