As part of the PLM Power Automation Solutions (SI EA PLM PA-SOL) team, you will be responsible for definition, implementation and roll-out of engineering optimization activities. This position requires individuals with strong engineering and project management skills, technical expertise, and the capability to work collaboratively with diverse engineering teams to guarantee the smooth integration and efficient utilization of engineering tools and software across the organization.

What part will you play?

  • As a technical representative of Power Automation Solutions, you will be responsible for the control and protection / substation automation systems portfolio.

  • You will be responsible for defining, implementing, and rolling out engineering optimization activities, applying your own expert understanding of protection and automation solutions and collaborating with dedicated working groups.

  • You will conduct feasibility studies to assess implementation strategies and priorities and ensure that all defined measures are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality, industry, and regulatory standards.

  • You will collaborate and coordinate with R&D Teams, other Power Automation product PLMs, Global Engineering teams and other relevant partners.

  • The development of training materials, the conducting of workshops, and the provision of continuous support and troubleshooting assistance for integrated engineering approaches and selected power automation products will be carried out by you.

  • You will establish metrics to measure the effectiveness of implemented approaches and derive improvement and optimization opportunities.

  • Furthermore, you stay updated with advancements in engineering tools and technologies, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and nurture innovation within the global engineering teams.

What you need to make real what matters.

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Control or Automation Engineering or equivalent.

  • Long-term professional experience in power automation.

  • Proven experience in commissioning substation control and protection systems.

  • Expertise in leading technical projects in power automation.

  • Knowledge of HV and MV electrical networks.

  • Proficiency in Siemens automation products and software; familiarity with multiple vendors is a plus.

  • Experience with Communication Network Technologies, including design, configuration, and troubleshooting.

  • Knowledge of communication protocols such as: IEC61850, IEC 60807-5-101/-103/-104, DNP, Modbus, Profinet, Profibus.

  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity standards in control and automation systems (IEC62443, IEC62351) and IEC standards.

  • Excellent English communication skills; German or another second language is a plus.

  • Experience in cross-functional and international team collaboration.
