DHL Express currently has an opening for an Automation Controls Engineer atour CVG Hub in Erlanger, KY.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Team Management
- Lead and manage Project team (internal or external) with responsibility for project management at the sub domain level
IT Systems Development, Configuration & Testing
Provide technical guidance & expertise with respect to leading-edge Controls Engineering development technologies in the specified technology area.
Lead the team to provide technical input on design, development, implementation of major solutions, and where necessary technical direction.
Configure/implement MHE Control systems using the agreed technologies components (e.g. SOA)
Provide Technical and Managerial direction to the IT system deployment process as and when required
Meet project milestones and budget
Technical Quality assurance and testing for solution within the scope of the domain.
Technology, Touchpoint, People, and Processes
Monitor the emergence of new software and controls development technologies and methodologies and where appropriate apply it to the software development process
To own and drive implementation of technically complex migrations & integration solution and transition projects
Responsible for the management of technology issues and risk mitigation during software development life cycle
Build an effective relationship with internal and external stakeholders
Application & Deployment Coverage Scope
Primary Applications focus will be SUB-DOMAIN APPLICATIONS where roles' specific technologies (as attached) are applicable
Primary (Beta) deployment focus for IT Services will for TIER 2 countries
Able to manage multiple deployment concurrently
Finance & Projects
Complete assigned task as per committed project schedule
Track and close all IT technical issues
People Management
Communicate effectively & build strong relationships across multiple project teams
Be self-motivated and deal with conflict situations in a positive manner
Developing self (via training & own learning) on DHL culture, DHL application and on (new) IT technology
Skills & Qualifications:
Divisional experience is not mandatory but will be an asset.
Total of 5 to 8 years work experience in IT.
Minimum 1 year experience in service oriented architecture and related technologies (e.g. Software AG products & Java).
At least 3 years working experience in technologies relavant to the role (which is attached).
3-5 years addiitonal experience over and above specific technologies.
Preferably experience with Allen Bradley Control Logix, Siemens Step & PLC languages, GDU, Schnieder.
Strong knowledge of MHE hardware, PLC's, VFD, Drives, electrical and mechanical design.
Knowledge and/or working experience in a cross-cultural environment is desirable.
Degree/Diploma in Computer Science or IT.
Able to work independently (e.g. individual contributor) as well as in a team (e.g. group contributor).
