Purpose:

The HR Manager will develop, implement, and manage company policies and procedures. Manage all functional areas within responsibility to include employee relations, salary administration, payroll, benefits, training, and staffing. Keep plant management team abreast of changes in employment law as well as ensure legal compliance. Make recommendations that encompass trends and new developments within the human resources function. Works independently and makes decisions that are in the best interest of the organization.

Position will be located at Berry's Airport Warehouse located at6501 Berry Plastics Blvd, Evansville, IN 47725

Responsibilities

  • Maintain “hands on” responsibility for the Human Resources functional area

  • Responsible for the interpretation and application of Human Resources policies, recommending changes and monitoring compliance

  • Build, maintain, and grow community engagement/workforce development programs, including Berry LINK, apprentice programs, and internships

  • Foster a positive plant culture through employee recognition, listening programs, and engagement activities

  • Align HR goals with plant and corporate objectives

  • Establish and maintain open and effective communication with employees

  • Manage all Human Resources programs such as recruitment, compensation, diversity, performance management, employee training

  • Provide leadership, vision, and development to plant staff through training, coaching, and mentoring

  • Assist with insurance and benefits program administration

  • Coordinate performance management and salary review processes

  • Represent company in unemployment, insurance, and other external claims

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, or Business preferred with minimum of five (5) years HR experience

  • SPHR or PHR Accreditation is a plus

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong team orientation

  • Working knowledge of labor laws

  • Experienced conflict resolution, problem solving, and analytical skills

  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality

  • Exemplary organization skills
