Position Overview

The intern will work closely with the Production Control Group, Industrial Engineers and the Manufacturing Team. Typical projects within Production control will consist of, but may not be limited to the following: Production Time Studies, Flammability Test Sample Tracking, Shop Order Control, ERP Data Reporting and Evaluations within the MRP system, Work Center/Cell Scheduling, and Labor Collection and Evaluations.

The intern will gain a working knowledge of our processes and procedures and the basics of an ERP system. They will also learn about work center scheduling, shop order creation and fulfillment and will perform all production control functions. The intern will learn about all of the manufacturing areas and the daily support for those work centers. Finally the intern may assist in shop floor layouts, work flow streamlining, and participate in kaizen or continuous improvement events to further improve the business.

The Intern will assist the Production Control Manager, Production Control Team Members, and Operations Management.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Involvement with the production floor and the support teams such as Manufacturing Engineering in order to understand the roles and impacts within Operations

  • Process Engineering Change Analysis (ECAs), Shop Orders, and Change Control Forms

  • Focus on improving specific product or work center to encourage continuously improving production flow.

Basic Qualifications

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

  • Must be a U.S. Person authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future
