Naval Facilities Engineering Command SUPERVISORY ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in Everett, Washington

Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the ENVIRONMENTAL DIVISION of NAVFAC NORTHWEST. Responsibilities You will assign environmental protection work based on skill level, strengths, weaknesses, and priorities to improve workflow efficiency. You will provide feedback on employee performance expectations with environmental work to improve development and performance. You will develop and implement spill prevention, control and countermeasure planning, and emergency response actions in compliance with environmental protection regulations. You will oversee contractor actions to verify coordination and conformance with installation spill prevention and hazardous waste handling requirements. You will monitor oil and hazardous substance storage processes to ensure compliance with environmental protection regulations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: 1) Conducting evaluations of environmental compliance inspections and evaluations of environmental quality programs; 2) Identifying non-complying hazardous waste procedures using environmental regulations and requirements and controls; 3) Evaluating environmental consequences of actions, operations, tests, etc., in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA); 4) Preparing performance plans and formal performance appraisals for subordinate employees; 5) Communicating both orally and in writing. *NOTE: This experience must be fully and clearly supported in your resume.
