TEKsystems Default Loan Loss Analyst in Ewing, New Jersey
Description:
The Loss Analysis Specialist, performs detailed reviews on the servicing file, after claims recoveries have completed, in order to determine losses and root causes, submit chargebacks to departments and vendors for avoidable losses, clear out appropriate balances on the loan and close the REO Workstation down.
Performs a detailed review of the servicing file from date of default to final claim payment
Reviews claim to determine if a supplemental claim is needed
Performs a root cause analysis of the servicing file from date of default through final close out to ensure all regulatory and contractual requirements are adhered to
Submits RCA (root cause analysis) chargebacks to vendors and departments as appropriate for avoidable losses incurred, providing detailed backup and answering any follow-up questions the business line may have
Identifies contractual versus non-contractual loss; type of loss; and reconciliation of final accounting
Sends requests and documents system to clear balances and close down REO Workstation
Identifies missed steps, or steps outside the review and reporting process and flags in Director
Assist in training new team members
Serves as Subject Matter Expert for client and inter-departmental escalations
Other duties as required
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, including but not limited to compliance and operational risk.
Ensure all GSE loans have accurate reasons for delinquency and proper status codes by month-end
Ensure accurate and timely FHA and VA monthly default reporting
Conduct postmortem analysis of loans to determine what is claimable and what is not attributed to each scenario
Determine controllable loss and assign it to the upstream business unit to understand process gaps and avoid future losses
Manage very manual processes requiring a strong understanding of the process due to their manual nature
Conduct forensic loss analysis/post-mortem on loans after claims have been paid to determine if the loss is the client’s or the company’s
Prepare loss sheets for clients detailing the cost
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum 4+ years of experience experience in mortgage servicing (Preferably Claims)
Minimum 4+ years of experience utilizing MS Excel (vlookup, Pivot Tables)
Demonstrated understanding of the Claims Process: Allowable items, filing process, documentation and time frame requirements, EOBs/AOPs, structure of the guarantee and investor risk
Demonstrated understanding of the Default Servicing cycle & expertise in at least 1 other default department
Working knowledge of the Black Knight MSP servicing system
Working knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, and ability to learn industry related systems
Quality assurance within mortgage, default claims filing
Previous experience with basic cost accounting

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $40.00
