Description
Our Accounting department is growing!! We are looking to add a Staff Accountant to our team. The responsibilities of a Staff Accountant entail preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. In addition, you will look over schedules for the reporting processes, participate in compliance, and keep in touch with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This position involves a good deal of time spent on producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This is a long-term temporary opportunity that's sure to challenge as well as reward effort.
Responsibilities
Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

Requirements
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Demonstrated ability in exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Current and relevant ERP system experience
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in payroll
Mnth end closings experience preferred
Command of Accounts Payable (AP)
Solid understanding of Abila MIP
