Peerless Technologies Corporation Modeling and Simulation Engineer in Fairborn, Ohio
Peerless is seeking an experienced Modeling and Simulation Engineer to develop and enhance AFSIM (Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration and Modeling) for the Air Force and DoD. Candidate will be responsible for all enhancements and bug fixes for the formal AFSIM releases. Candidate will also be responsible for testing AFSIM releases prior to distribution to their hundreds of users. Candidate will work with both AFSIM development as well as AFSIM players, libraries, and plug-ins that get developed. Candidate will also be responsible for both integrating and developing various red (threat) and blue (friendly) models, laydowns and CONOPs to go along with AFSIM releases.
Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
Strong communication and organizational skills
US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance; TS/SCI
Required Experience:
Minimum of 5 years C++, C#, Python, or Java development experience
Minimum of 10 years software development experience
Experience using source control and CI/CD tools such as git, Bitbucket, Gitlab, Jenkins, Gitlab runners, etc.
Experience developing software for Linux platforms
Experience following agile development processes
Desired Qualifications
Experience working with modeling and simulation tools such as AFSIM, NGTS, and ITASE
Experience with virtual machine and container management platforms such as WSL2 and Docker
Experience applying object-oriented design patterns within software applications
Experience with integrated development environments such as Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, PyCharm, etc.
Familiarity with DoD security practices
