CGI Federal has an exciting opportunity for a Senior-Level Cloud Architect. In this position you will work with multiple IT disciplines in shaping, executing and sustaining the Cloud/Hosting strategy for a shared service platform focused on identify and mitigate a wide range of cyber risks. You will lead projects for the Cloud Architecture team to support the client’s mission, priorities, and unique challenges. You will also support the implementation of cyber security COTS offerings focusing on next generation security solutions and technologies.

This position is located in our Fairfax, VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable. You will be required to be in our Fairfax, VA office two days per week.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Design and implement secure cloud architectures for multi-cloud and hybrid cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Develop and enforce secure-by-design principles and cloud security patterns to guide project teams
• Lead threat modeling and risk assessments for cloud-based solutions
• Architect solutions to secure cloud workloads, including containerized and serverless applications
• Ensure cloud environments comply with regulatory standards (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR)
• Define and enforce security policies, standards, and best practices for cloud usage and operations
• Establish monitoring and auditing frameworks to maintain compliance and ensure data integrity
• Evaluate, deploy, and manage cloud-native security tools (e.g., AWS GuardDuty, Azure Security Center, GCP Security Command Center)
• Implement solutions for data encryption, key management, and identity & access management (IAM)
• Integrate cloud environments with enterprise security tools (e.g., SIEM, CASB, vulnerability scanners)
• Partner with DevOps and engineering teams to implement DevSecOps practices
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on cloud security for IT and business teams
• Provide mentorship and training to security engineers and developers on secure cloud practices
• Develop incident response plans tailored for cloud environments and assist with forensics investigations
• Analyze and mitigate security risks specific to cloud infrastructures
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Due to the nature of the contract requirements, US citizenship and successful passing of CGI background check is required prior to beginning work. In addition, candidates must have ability to obtain and maintain a DHS EOD/Public Trust clearance
• Must have minimum of 6 years of experience in Cloud Engineering
• Must have AWS Professional-Level Certification
• In-depth knowledge of cloud security frameworks (e.g., CSA Cloud Controls Matrix, NIST 800-53, CIS Benchmarks)
• Expertise in identity and access management, network security, and secure application deployment in cloud environments
• Experience documenting technical requirements
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient at multi-tasking and proactive in work responsibilities
• Superior attention to detail
• Passion for providing great customer service
Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:
• Security relevant certifications: CISSP, CISM, CISA, Security, and CEH
• Understanding of federal cybersecurity guidance such as NIST SP 800-37, Guide for Applying the Risk Management Framework to Federal Information Systems: a Security Life Cycle Approach and NIST 800-137, Information Security Continuous Monitoring (ISCM) for Federal Information Systems and Organizations
• Understanding of, or direct experience with, the DHS Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation Program (CDM)
• Strong understanding of DevSecOps practices and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) security tools (e.g., Terraform, AWS CloudFormation)
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset
• Strong communication and presentation abilities to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments while managing multiple projects
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and license and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $125,500.00 - $271,800.00.
