University of Virginia Project Management Associate in Fairfax, Virginia
The Center for Advanced Study of Teaching and Learning (https://education.virginia.edu/research-initiatives/research-centers-labs/center-advanced-study-teaching-and-learning) (CASTL) in the School of Education and Human Development (https://education.virginia.edu/) at the University of Virginia seeks applicants for a full-time Project Management Associate to join the Virginia Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation (ECMHC) project. The Project Management Associate will perform coordination, implementation, communication, and dissemination tasks related to managing the ECMHC project. This is a remote optional position with rare on-site (UVA/Charlottesville and other Virginia localities) work requirements for meetings or presentations. If local to Charlottesville, office space may be provided (if preferred).
The goals of the ECMHC project are to promote the social-emotional development of children birth-5 and prevent suspension and expulsion from early childhood programs across Virginia. To achieve these goals, mental health consultants partner with early childhood programs and teachers to provide collaborative, one-on-one consultation around identified needs at the program/site, classroom, and/or child level. We are expanding access to ECMHC services thanks to support from the Virginia Department of Education. In 2023-2024 (our third pilot year), our team will provide in-person/hybrid services in two large regions of the state and virtual services statewide.
As part of the ECMHC team, you will support the daily operations related to delivering high-quality mental health consultation services to early childhood programs across Virginia.
Role and Responsibilities Include:
Collaborate with project faculty and staff to support the successful delivery of ECMH consultation through excellent project management, relationship building and management, and communications
Manage assignments and tasks and identify systemic inefficiencies
Coordinate with external project partners to support project implementation
Plan agendas for meetings, keep meeting notes, and manage/track resulting task assignments for team members using systems such as Smartsheet
Support the hiring, onboarding, and training of early childhood mental health consultants
Manage consultants’ caseload assignments
Track the progress of the project including implementation data collected as part of the pilot and associated evaluation using our CRM tool, HubSpot
Use data (from logs, feedback etc.) and provide team leads and consultants feedback to guide plans for improvement
In coordination with other project staff, track participants’ successful completion of project forms and surveys
Communicate effectively with project faculty, staff, and external partners (VDOE, Ready Region teams, Coaching Partners) and stakeholders (teachers, leaders) in written and spoken forms
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Experience: 2 years of experience
Preferred Qualifications
A strong preference will be given to candidates that have extensive experience in the following:
Experience coordinating or managing research, clinical, projects, or administrative activities with demonstrated ability to manage self, team members, and stakeholders
Project tracking and management expertise
One to two years of experience within the field of early childhood education
Prior experience with research-practice-policy partnerships in early childhood education
Knowledge of Virginia's early childhood education programming across various settings (e.g., VPI, ECSE, Title 1, Head Start, in schools, centers, and Family Day Homes)
Proficiency in use of technology:
Project management tools (e.g., Trello, Smartsheet, Scheduling apps)
Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel)
Videoconferencing or webinar tools (e.g., Zoom)
Virtual platforms or storage (e.g., Google Docs, Box, Trello)
Data management tools (e.g., Qualtrics)
Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software (e.g., HubSpot)
Physical Demands
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
Anticipated Salary Range : $55,000-$65,000 with UVA benefits (http://hr.virginia.edu/benefits) , commensurate with education and experience.
