Job Description
Your Team
Are you ready to make a significant impact? As a Senior Accountant at Brookfield Residential, you’ll play a key role in managing the financial operations for our land and housing projects. You’ll handle everything from monthly accounting and job cost management to financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and efficiency every step of the way.
Your Key Deliverables
Financial Reporting: Produce accurate and timely reports, including Joint Venture financials.
Collaborate & Communicate: Work closely with operations, Head Office, and Division Accounting to ensure seamless financial operations.
Process Management: Oversee key tasks like recording sales, monitoring cash activities, reconciling accounts, and preparing tax filings.
Leadership: Guide and supervise staff, lead meetings, and contribute to ongoing training and development.
Compliance & Controls: Manage SOX compliance, liaise with auditors, and enhance internal controls.
Must Haves
Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of experience or equivalent education/experience mix.
Expertise in financial reporting, full-cycle accounting, and job cost management.
Strong business acumen with a proactive and goal-oriented mindset.
Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-focused.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Suite, especially Excel.
Experience in land, real estate, construction or homebuilding accounting is an asset.
