Akima Journeyman Computer User Support Specialist /Systems Administrator in Falls Church, Virginia

Responsibilities
Provides Level II IT customer support to Army OTSG (Office of the Surgeon General) including configuration, testing, troubleshooting of computer systems, peripherals and software within established standards and guidelines.
Develops strong communications and working relationships with other support teams.
Manages objects within the Microsoft Active Directory Organizational Unit structure, to include but not limited to, Group Policy management and configuration, management of computer/user objects.
Evaluates computer hardware and software deficiencies and make recommendations to procure items necessary to correct deficiencies.
Performs system backups.
Qualifications
Associates degree in technical discipline or 2 years of equivalent relevant professional experience.
Additional training, certification, and/or years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Experience with SCCM and/or Tanium.
Experience with Windows 10 and MS Office applications including MS Teams and O365.
Must possess or obtain DoD 8570.01-M certification within 6 months of hire (A+, Security+ preferred).
Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines while actively documenting all work performed via designated ticketing system (ServiceNow preferred).
Team player.
Outstanding Customer Service skills.
Excellent verbal and communication skills.
Self-starter requiring minimal supervision.
Able to take proactive measures to prevent problems rather than reactive by nature.
Must be a U.S. Citizen with and active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
