Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced, skilled, and dedicated Audio-Visual Technician to join our team. As an Audio-Visual Technician, you will play a pivotal role in the installation and maintenance of audio and visual systems across a diverse range of commercial environments (healthcare, education, institutional, and corporate settings). The ability to communicate and coordinate with other trades on an active construction site, renovation, or finished office/conference room environment is necessary. The AV Tech role requires excellent customer service skills, an understanding of audio and visual systems, and the ability to troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise.
Responsibilities:
- Install audio-visual equipment such as projectors, speakers, microphones, and video screens with adherence to the highest safety and professionalism standards.
- Identify and resolve technical issues efficiently to minimize downtime and ensure maximum client satisfaction.
- Cultivate collaborative relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Maintain optimal performance and longevity of AV systems and equipment through meticulous maintenance and timely repairs.
- Keep accurate records of equipment inventory, maintenance, and repairs.
- Embrace flexibility, including occasional travel beyond the Metro Detroit Area, and availability for weekend and night schedules to meet client needs and project demands.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Two years of prior experience installing AV equipment in field or construction site environments.
- Proficiency in handling AV equipment and associated tools.
- Ability to comprehend mechanical components, schematics, and cabling.
- Knowledge of low voltage electrical systems.
- Proficiency in computer hardware and software relevant to AV systems.
- Familiarity or Certification with Liberty, Biamp, Crestron, and Poly systems.
- Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Agility in problem-solving, with the capacity to swiftly troubleshoot technical challenges while prioritizing optimal outcomes.
- Physically capable of meeting job demands, including lifting up to 50lbs and enduring prolonged periods of standing and kneeling.
- Availability for flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends.
