Description Job Summary: The candidate will have the opportunity to work in a global and very dynamic team of dedicated professionals. The candidate will be part of application development team focused on customer requirements and satisfaction. The candidate will be part of mechanical hardware design engineering team. The team has product responsibility and works with internal cross functional teams, and with the customer engineering team. This position is important both internally and to our customer. Any achievement will be acknowledged and recognized by both parties.
Job Responsibilities: Design of mechanical package for automotive controllers with free convection, forced convection or liquid cooling. Create and maintain DFMEA, DVP&R, DRBFM and other quality documentation Implementation of thermal management technologies: cold plates, fans, heat pipes, heat sinks, etc. Design of high pressure die cast and injection molded components. Utilization of CAD tools, preferably SolidWorks, for design of 3D models, assemblies and 2D drawings. Perform/Support mechanical, vibration, and thermal FEA, CFD Work closely with EE to determine optimum mechanical design considering heat dissipation and other issues. Achieve DFM approval from vendors and internal PE groups Work under pressure of short time to deliver product that capture customer requirements Generate technical reports as required. Represent Hitachi in all internal and customer support meetings. Weekly management status/escalation reporting. Ensure conformance to all internal and customer design specifications. Support local DV and PV testing development Maintain mechanical BOM. Responsible for delivering/managing internal/customer drawings Execute project deliverables according to internal and customer milestones.
Position Requirements Strong background in mechanical design, with expertise in thermal analysis. Capability in designing water cooled electronics housing is a key requirement Experience in designing products that have active cooling (automotive, IT, medical etc.) Demonstrated project management skills. Strong Microsoft suite skills including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. Ability to communicate with and understand the needs of the cross-functional teams. Strong sense of urgency and personal commitment. Possess excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents. Highly motivated and disciplined in time management. History of delivering designs on time and on budget. Experience in managing tiered supply base. Experience in customer facing support role Proficient in GD&T and Stackups (Arithmetic and Statistical). FEA and CFD analysis know how is preferred, especially using ANSYS and Star-CCM+ Experience with solder fatigue analysis (ANSYS Sherlock, etc.) is a plus Experience working in multi-cultural environments is a plus.
Education: Master's degree or bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Experience: Have 5-7 years applicable experience in mechanical engineering and design with a bachelor's degree or 2-4 years of experience with a master's degree.
